Don Bullard: Don Bullard, a respected figure in the insurance industry, retired in 2020 after a distinguished 36-year career. Starting in 1972 as a State Farm agent, Bullard quickly made a name for himself through his dedication and hard work. He rose to prominence within the company, consistently ranking among the top 10 agents in the U.S. and Canada for over a decade, even achieving the coveted number-one agent spot multiple times. In 2008, at 59, Don made a bold move by leaving State Farm to establish his independent agency, Don Bullard Insurance, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Despite starting from scratch, he rapidly grew his business, eventually serving over 20,000 households. His agency offered a comprehensive range of insurance products, including auto, homeowners, flood, and marine coverage. By 2016, his agency's success attracted the attention of Acrisure, a leading brokerage firm. Don sold his agency to Acrisure but continued working for another 3 ½ years before retiring at the age of 71.
